About
Hey, I’m Braxton Smallwood — a solo developer building small games and small tools under the name Dicest Dev.
I’m self-taught, and most of what I make lives somewhere between a puzzle and a system. I like simple rules that leave a lot of room to think.
What I’m working on
Just Flip A Coin is my current main project — a browser roguelike deck-builder where every decision is a coin flip. You build a bag of coins with unique effects, chain flips together, and try not to bust. In active beta.
Misshapen is a smaller prototype exploring 3v3 tactical combat with full-information previews: you see every attack before you commit. Geometric shapes vs entropic noise. Also playable in the browser.
Braxword is a math + word puzzle. Every letter has an alphabet value (A=1 … Z=26). Fill in the blanks so both sides of the equation balance and spell a word.
Wordchain is a word-chain puzzle. Start with one word, change one letter at a time, and walk to the target.
ShiftFive was my first published title — a twice-daily word game available on the App Store.
Fantasy Football side project
Outside of games I also build fantasy football draft tools under the name Short Week. Right now that includes Call Sheet for snake drafts and Auction Lab for auction drafts. The goal is tools that are efficient, honest, and carefully tuned — not a subscription empire, not a content farm.
Why “Dicest Dev”
Because most of what I make involves rolling with uncertainty — coin flips, letter draws, tactical previews, draft picks. The name is a small joke about that.
If you want to give feedback on a game, tell me something’s broken, or just say hi, head over to the contact page.
